We recognise the need to ensure all internationally educated nurses are not only qualified but also properly prepared, trained and ready to commence working overseas.

This requirement is particularly necessary in those countries which have limited or no ‘preceptorship programmes’ such as the US and Canada.

We have partnered with high achieving US licensed senior nurse educators, and a Canadian Nursing University and offers a range of courses and education focussed on pre-assessed clinical competency gaps and ‘transition to practise.  This ensures that we will not just deliver licensed nurses, but we will deliver nurses who understand the employer culture, patient advocacy, the healthcare system and hospital operating environment.

Clinical Competency Assessment and OSCE Preparation

Incorporates clinical competency assessments and OSCE preparation into its curriculum to ensure IENs meet nursing standards. Key components include:

Workshops and Simulations: Hands-on training sessions that simulate real-world clinical scenarios, allowing students to practice and refine their skills in a controlled environment.

Clinical Practicums: Provide students with direct patient care experience, bridging classroom learning with on-the-job training.

OSCE Preparation: While specific OSCE preparation courses are not detailed, the program’s emphasis on simulations and practical assessments equips students with the necessary skills to succeed in OSCEs required for licensure.

Program Benefits

Work-Integrated Learning: Students gain practical experience through clinical placements, enhancing their readiness for the US/Canadian healthcare workforce.

Supportive Learning Environment: Offers resources and support tailored to the needs of internationally educated nurses, facilitating a smooth transition into the US/Canadian healthcare system.

Transition to Practice (TTP) Course

Designed to help internationally educated nurses (IENs) adapt to the clinical and professional expectations of healthcare systems in the United States and Canada. These programs bridge the gap between international nursing education and North American practice standards, providing nurses with the tools they need to enter the workforce safely and confidently. The focus is on aligning nursing knowledge, clinical skills, and cultural awareness with the demands of North American healthcare environments.

The course typically includes hands-on clinical skills refreshers, simulation-based training, and NCLEX-RN preparation. Additional training is provided in documentation, delegation, time management, and patient-centered care using North American protocols and equipment.

A critical aspect of the program is professional communication and cultural competence. Nurses learn how to interact effectively with patients, families, and interprofessional teams while gaining an understanding of legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks in the US and Canadian healthcare systems.
